616 (600) N. River – The Hutchinson House

Originally numbered 616 N. River (now 600). Construction was started in 1902 and finished in 1904 by Shelly B. Hutchinson, an enterprising newspaper publisher. Hutchinson was one of the men who introduced the trading-stamp scheme that spread for a time to all parts of the country and made a fortune for its promoters.
